  • AOP Bordeaux
  • Domain: Château Cajus

The Bordeaux region is one of the biggest producing regions in the world. It produces one third of the AOC wines in France. Bordeaux lies near the coast of the Atlantic ocean, in the south west of France and has been producing wines for over 2 000 years.

The production of organic wine responds to a real demand from the French market. Wines are made from organically grown grapes (no chemical products, no fertilizers) and certified by an independent organisation .

Château Cajus lies on 12 hectares planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Semillon and Sauvignon, located on the village of Saint Germain du Puch, 20 km east of Bordeaux and 20km south-west of Saint Emilion. The estate includes a house of the 17th century, once a home for the Santiago de Compestella pilgrims, now hosting wine lovers. Château Cajus turned to organic agriculture since 1998. After 3 years of conversion, their wines are now certified by ECOCERT, so since the vintage 2011.
