In 1998, the Viré-Clessé is the first appellation which was recognized in the AOC Mâcon-Villages vineyards. Viré and Clessé are two villages of South Burgundy, between Tournus and Mâcon. The typicality of their wines are very similar, they opted for a single name. Only white wines are produced.
